STEALING A TREASURY NOTE. Yesterday; Warren Andrews, colored, was arrested ‘by officer Crump, of the First Ward, cbarged with stealing a $50 Treasury note from Jos:ph Basset, an invalid soldier. Andrews had been engaged about the quarters of the Invalid Corps, and Basset missing his pocket- book, accused the prisoner of stealing it, which the latter denied, but immedistely started to rup, thiowing away the pocket-book, which ‘was picked up, minus the Treasury note. The negro was pursued; arrested, and taken to the station-house, where he admitted that he had atolen the note and sold it to a friend for $15. ‘The money was recovered with the exception . of about $2.25, and Andrews was committed to jail for court by Justice Drury.
