Sample, who, it is alleged, fired the fatal stot. Dorving the evening 8 dispute arose be- tween Mr. McLaughlin and Sample, and after it was apparently setued a man named Gil- breath struck Sample in the mouth, and the latter went out, and when he returned his Toonth was bloody. Keating picked up a chair, when the parties were pashed ont of doors, sud Sample drew @ pistol and fired, (some Witnesses te-tifying through the window and others throngh the door,) the ball taking effect in the lett breast ot -he deceased, causing his Geath in afew moments. Coroner Woodward- was notified, and held sn inquest, but the jary were unable to dud the cause of death.
