Childers will give another ex- nibition of his Zouave drill, and Kathleen O'Neill will sing new songs, ee MzxTING TO Encourage ENLISTMENTS.— Another meeting to encourage enlistments was held last evening in the Council Chamber, City Hall, and was well attended by members of the committee and others. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. P. F. Bacon. The commitiee of one from each ward, ap- pointed at the last meeting, through Mr. A. R. Shepherd, made the following report: They report that in their opinion a proper and systematic effort and action on the part of the authorities and citizens of Washington will insure the speedy filling up of this city’s quota, by the offering of a liberal bounty to volunteers; and in furtherance of this objeet they racom- mend the appointment of a sub-committee of ten fiom each ward, to be styled the committee on collections, whose duty it shall be to wait upon the citizens resident in their respective woreecert solicit subscriptions. The wards to be previously districted by the delegate of the executive committee. They recommend also the appointment of a committee of ona from each ward to prepare subscription lists and circulars. to publish Accounts of subscriptions, and to devise such measures as in their judgment may be best | calculated to increase the receipts of the com- Mit'ee, as well as to endeavor to secure from the City Councils the appropriation of ihe an- expended balance of $10,000 made by them in July, 1563, and to perform such other duties as may appertain to the securing of enlistments. They further recommend that in addition to the committee on collections collectors should Le appointed for each of the departments and public works to secure subscriptions therein. The committee also recommend that each subscripticn list be headed by each member of the ward end general committees and by the signers of the called public meeting, held Nov. 6h, with a subscription proportionate to their pecuniary ability, in order thatthe public may be assured they are in earnest in the matter and determined to effect the object in view, and an earnest, determined effort to aid in re- plenishing our armies, and thus securing a Jasting, honorable peace. id They would also suggest and recommend that the executive committee take into consid- eration the propriety of asking the managers of the various theaters, &c., that they give an entertainment in aid of this fund, and that said committee invite lecturers from different por- tions of the country to aid in this movement by contributing to a course of lectures to be given at some suitable ha!l in this city, the proceeds te be applied to this end. They also recommend that a premium of five dcllars be offered by the executive committee to each and every individual who shall bring in an acceptable reeruit, such premium to be paid upon the musiering in and upen the cer- tificate of the enrolling officer. The committee also recommended the ap- pointment of an executive committee of one sromeach ward to have a general supervision of the burinese, and who shall be authorized to call meetings of the general committee at all times, and report to them their action and such matters as may require their attention. The report was unanimously adopted, and the following was appointed the executive committee: First Ward, H. ©. Wilson: Second Ward. S. V. Noyes; Third Ward, A. R. Stine- metz, a member of the Second Ward general committee, declined to serve, and on motion Mr. A. H.
