ACCIDENT TO A SoLpigR.—Last night, about 7 oclock, as car No. 49 was crossing Third street, on the Avenue, & soldier named August «Quince, of the 13th New York cavalry regi- ment, and who was slightly intoxicated jumped from a car going in an opposite dit ticn, and the wheels of car No. 49 passed ov his left leg, causing & simple but painful fra ture. The driver of the car was not in any manner to'blame, for it was impossible for him } to stop his car in time to prevent the accident. i Quince was at once carried to Brown's drag store, corner of Third streetand the Avenue, and a physician being in attendance, every ef- fort wss made to alleviate his sufferings. As the wounded man bad on a chirt bearing the marks of the Armory Square Hospital, mes- gers were at once dispatched to thet locall- y, and in about half an hour an ambulance conveyed the wounded man to that hospital. ee ee — Friiy ComMMItTTEep.—Last nigit, Justice Thomp-on gave John Ler, the colored man who stole the hand trunk fror the cars at the arsenal Isst Wednesday, and was arcrested by Officer Pendel, of the Fourth Ward. Lee con- fessed the taking of the p-operty, and was fully committed for court. Lieutenant Free- man desiring to leave the city this morning to join the army, his property was returned to him. Itissaid tbat a car, laden with goods, was missed this morning. and has not since been heard from. Its disappearance is still a mystery.
