The captain seized the ‘ellow and had @ severe struggle with him; but the captain was too feeble to secure his prison+r, but clung to him till, getting too near the stair- way, both fell down the steps. Mr. Danforth, cashier, secured the thief, and Capt. Hull re- turned to his room, where he ascertained that bis pocketbook, containing twenty dollars, had been taken from his pants. The prisorer corn- feseed the act, and gave up the money. He was then turned over to officer Healy, who carried him to the Fourth Ward station.
