A special term ‘will be held in abont ten days. Anna White, indicted for stealing twoshawls, cape, &c., valued at $150, was found guilty and eee to one year in the Albany peniten- tiary. wr. Norris moved an arrest of judgment in the ease of James U. Gibbs, convicted of forg- ang discharge papers, but the Court refused to grant the motion. Eliza Burrell, indicted for grand larceny in stealing a bonnet, was convicted and sen- tenced to one year in the Albany penitentiary. John Brogden was found guiliy of an assault on Mary E. Brogden, and sentenced to thirty days in jail. nm the case of Charles Marrs, indicted for #rand larceny, a nolle pros was entered. The Court then passed sentence on the fol- jowing: Jesse Bryan, assault and battery; 20 days in jail. Louisa Brown, Jane Howard, Catherine Taylor, W. H. The regular term of the Cireuit Court taking Place to-day, the special term was adjourned. it is expected, however, that another special term will be ordered. noe ASSAULT AND BatrTery with INTENT TO Ki1.—Sunday morning, about 3 o'clock, con- siderable excitement was created in the team- Sters quarters near the iron bridge, in Swam- Poodle, by a teamster named Tnomas Reilty, | ‘who took a knife and went tothe bed where | Suother teamster named Robt. Thompson was sieeping, and inflicteda very ugly w-und upon ‘Thompson’s face, the cut extending across ihe nose from one side near to the jaw bone upon the other. Reilly is a desperate fellow, and arming himself with a revolver, defiled arrest. ‘The teamsters turned out when they heard the case, and assisted Officer Crown in arresting Reilly Reilly had a hearing before Justice Giberson yesterday, and manifested the most malignant feeling towards Thompson. The cause of this animosity appeared from the eyi- dence to be only the right of use by the parties respectively to a particular horse belonging to the Government.
