Lowell, Deputy Marshal | of the Northern District of New York, arrived in this city, and proceeding to the office of Jus- tice Donn, exhibited two warrants issued by U. S. Commissioner W. ©. Ruger against John MeUoy and Jas. Vanorder, who are charged | with making and uttering U.S. Treasury notes, | alias “green backs.” Deputy Lowell made | afidayvit to the warrants as genuine, and that the parties bad fled from the Northern Distric: of New York, and he believed that they were in Washington, and he asked tobe deputized by & justice of the peace in order lo arrest them.
