Moses, farniture dealer. raat aetna Granp LARCENY oF GOVERNMENT Boota.— Last night, two colored men were observed earrying a bundle intoa grozgery near Gro- ver’s Theater, where they left it, and taking a sample of the goods—a few pairs of beots— went into Mrs. Kelly's, two doors below, and offered them for sale. Patrolman Parker ar- rested John Harraday, who had the boots in his hands. Unfortunately, it happened that the man who brought them there was not ar- rested, and Harraday was only examining the boots to ascertain their value, and buy them if he felt disposed. Harraday was taken to the station-house, and this morning proved him- self innocent of the larceny, and was dismissed. But by the investigation the guilty parties were ascertained, and will doubtless be arrested and tried to-morrow. ei METHODIST CHURCH CoNFERENCES.—The Baltimore Annual Conference of the Metho- dist Episcopal Church, composed of ministers of nearly all the Baltimore city churches west of Jones’ Falls, those of the District of Colnm- bia, St. Mary’s and other counties, will assem- ble on the 7th of March, in the Union Chure! Georgetown, of which the Rey Wm. H. Chap. man is pastor. Thereare about eighty minis- ters attached to the hody, which will be pre- sided over by Rev. Bishop Simpson. The East Baltimore Conference of the sama Church meets on the same day in the Borough of York, Pa. The body embraces over one hundred ministers er itinerants.
