Patrolman Lusby went to quell the disturbance, when he was assaulted and re- sisted by James Monahan, another patrolman. M. B. Gorman, another M. P., aided. him in the resistance. Michael McNemara and James Fitzgerald participated in the riot. The two patrolmen were net in uniform, but when the riot was getting serious they declared their of- ficial character. Justice Thompson held Mon- aban to bail for court, in $500, toanswer the charge of assault and battery and resisting the officer. The other three were held in $300 each toganswer the charge of riot. A warrant was issued against James Ragan, who was phir sree for the sale of the liquor.
