Pollock, numbering two bundred and fifty or three hundred men, were passed on Wednesday at the head of the dry route, about 350 miles from bere, on their way to the States. Capt Mentz, with his commend of volunteers, ‘was surprised about a miles from Fort Craig, and himself, his second lieutenant and nine of bis men taken prisoners. The balance of his men ran back to Fort Craig. The rebels also captured three government wagons Captain Morris, of the Rifles, with a command os companies, has started in pursuit of the rebels. Eleven companies have been mustered into ser- vice in New Mexico, under command of Col. Gallagher. Missouri State Convention. Str. Lovis, Oct. 16 —In the Convention yester- day a resolution was offered authorizing the Gov- ernor to issue State revenue notes to the amount of $2,000,000, to be received by the State as gold and to be redeemed in gold at the end of three years without interest. A memorial was received from the U.S. grand jury, requesting the Convention to declare all county offices vacant which have been filled by rsons known to be in any way disloyal to the Jnited States government, such vacancies to be filled by appointments by the Governor.
