Then dip it, lads, ~~ .,0e Berpan’s SHarrsHootsxs —The Michigan Company for Col. Berdan’s First Regiment of Sharpshooters reached town and reported at camp aweek ago. We learn from Captain Duesler tbat at least a thousand men could be recruited in Michigan within twenty days, if they are wanted, the bunters and honting farmers enter so heartily into the spirit of the thing. Capt Duesler’s com- prises 99 men, all of whom have made the required string of fifty inches. Tne shooting of the com- pany actually average only tienty seven inches, a akill which is truly remarkable, and which must tell with fearful effect upon the enemy. To recruit this company, three officers were ap- potated by the Governor, each of whom was or- dered to travel on one of three principal railroads, advertising in advance that at stated times be ‘wonld be atsuch or such places, and test appll- canis. Thus in less than a fortnight the required 100 were collected, and more than equal number ‘were refused admission to the ranks Col. Berdan’s men are to receive their uniforms to-day, and to-morrow afternoon, in obedience to the urgent orders from the War Department, will leave for Washington. The dress as finally or dered by Government, cons‘sts of a green coat, ‘Austrian blue-gray pantaloons, gaiters, and ht kepi. The Me ssachusetts Company will through thecity to-night. As an evidence o! the interest which Gen. McCieflan takes in the regi- mient, it may be well to state that he has detailed is friend Capt. Grover, U.
