Battiwors, Sept. 6.—The steamer of this morning brings the following dispatch: Fortress Monzoz, Sept. 5.—The steamers Monticello and Harriet Lane arrived from Hatteras Inlet this morning, and reports most gratifying intelligence. The Confederates have abandoned theirstrongly fortified posis at Ocracoke lalet. A number of North Carolinians have demon- strated their loyalty to the Federal Government by coming to Hatteras Lalet to take the oath of al- legiance. Col. Hawkins sends word that he sdministered the oath to between two and three hundred per- sons in a single day. The steamer Pawnee still lies in the inlet, and the Susquehanna on the outside. The Susquehanna ran down to Ocracoke inlet, and found the fortifications there completely de- serted, and the white flag was everywhere exhib- ited.
