Stopping for the night by the way, at 10a. m. f£ again embarked upon the Orange and Alexan- dria Railroad Company’s cars at Culpepet C. B., on which I found perhaps a hundred bound upon the errand carrying me away. The journey to the junction with the Central Railroad at Gor- donsville, over one of the finest and most agreeable regions of the Old Dominion, (described in the Stor last year, its readers will remember,) was quickly made. At Gordonsville our train met the Central Railroad Company’s up and down trains, from Staunton and Richmond, for Richmond and Staunton; the three (ours and theirs) having on board perhaps 650 passengers ; those of the two up trains being principally persons destined for either the Charlottesville Democratic-party’s Conven- tion, or for that of the Douglas party, called to meet at Staunton likewise to-day.
