An Is¥ants’ Hospitar.—A hospital for the re- ception of infants who may be too young to be taken into the orphan asylums is about to be es- tablished in this city Its location will be at the corner of Pennsylvania avenue and Thirteenth st. Tt will be under the supervision ef the Sisters of Mercy. There will also be provision made at the same place for the reception and care of indigent women who may come here as strangers, and are ont of employment, and in destitute circum- stances. Such an establishment as this has lon: been needed, and should receive the warm an liberal support of the benevolent and kind-Leart- ed, as another avenue for lending aid to those who are needy. Many come here from distant cities or from the Eastern continent, whose feel- ings revolt, no matier how indigent they may be in circumstances, at making application to be sent to the asylum or workhouse, because they have no visible means of support. By means of this hospital, opportunity wilt be afforded to such to obtain respectable employment The orpban or foundling infants for w] reception the build- ing is mainly intended, have heretofore frequently been put into the care of those who have little or no sympathy forsuch unfortunates, and only cared for them because they were paid to do so, and the little ones were, in consequence, sadly neglected. A few weeks since, two little orphan boys were arrested by a police otticer, taken before a mavis trate, and fined tor torowing stones ata flock of geese in the street.
