The Constitution speaking of the refusal of Pres- ident Buchanan to be a candidate for re-elegtion, says that while the masses of the Democraty in every State of the Union sincerely regret his deter- mination to retire at the end of his present term, they cannot but admire his firmness in not yieid- ing to the allurements of power, but on the con- trary persisting in his determination to pass the Yemainder of his days in quiet repose. The) Con- stitution compliments the Democracy of Ohio on their fidelity to the party, and expresses the opin- jomthat they will triumpau at the State election in the fall. ‘The Intelligencer pays an appropriate tribute to the meinory of the late Hoa.
