Stitt AxoTHER Nuisaxce.—This is the Tiber- creek ne at that interesting locality where the Tiber, Second street and Pennsylvania avenue meet ia coujunction. The locality is perhaps bet- ter known by the name of the old railroad depot. Just east of the old railroad depot we discover a space of ground about eight or ten feet wide,which gors, for Want of a better name, as Second street Letween the old railroad depot and Tiber creek. Where the street ends in width Tiber creek be- zins. and where there used to be about ten feet in width of street there is now the waters of the Ti- ber, whic tlow smoothly along over the inud and ether fith which forms its bed. From the edge of this ten-fert-wide street to the aforesaid waters there is & perpendicalar fall of about ten or twelve feet: and as the muddy water flows along it seems to wail, in its slaw course, for some unsuspecting and confident hack or team driver to be precipita- tect lute its filthy bosom. This little incident fre- yueutly vecurs, and is oecasionally varied by an accompanying splash of loud and bitter not of the most religious natare; and about once a Week, more or less, an unlucky ger may be Leard te bewail the total neglect of the authorities and to threaten vengeance upon the unlucky Cor- porstion that cannot afford to protect the necks of ‘ts citizens fcom peril at the expense of a few dol- lars ow 3 necessary improvement.
