No matter how good the latter may be, they can never be so managed as to afford a family the same comfort and enjoyment as a private dwelling of which they are the sole inmates, and which they manage to their own liking. tf, then. itis a pecuniary advantage to capitalists to erect residences which the ealy expect to rent during a brief portion of eac summer, Why would it not be 2 good speculation € Wangs capitalists to put up buildings in thiscity, with a view to accommodate the hu who come hither to icipate in the gaicties of which this me is is the scene du our “season?” It seems but rational to su; that ta would be the case, and that the rent of such buildiags here would be far wore profitable than those in Newport ean be. Again, by having sueh residences for the ac- com jon of visitors, many of those whose visits now continue but for a few weeks only, would, most probably, remain throughout the en- ire session of Congress; and very likely, espe- cially where the session is a long one, many would continue with us during the entire year. The lecturer, ia opening, dwelt upon the benificence aud wisdom the Almighty im preparing the earth as an abvede for man. The lecturer then proceeded to show that it was not ibie. however, for man to know, from the teachings of nature alone, that there isan Almighty Being who was the designer and creator of all, and hence Divine revelation became necessary.
