The Intelligencer in an article on “The Currency,”’ quotes the conclusions arrived at, at a series of weekly meetings held by “the friends of a sound currency,’’ im the city of New York, in September last, concurring with some of the views presented, and dissenting from others. In the connection it takes ecoa- sion to say a good word for the old United States Bank, suggesting that such an institu- tion would now be the best means of regulating the paper currency of the different States. The Union folks kept New Year’s day, and consequently that paper did not make its ap- pearance this morning.
