Notwith- standing this apparent prosperity, at the next general meeting, held in 1856, it was announced that a defict of 770,689f. existed ; but neverthe- less the meeting was made to vote a discharge of of all liabilities to the gerants, and an aug- mentation of the capital to the extent of 30,000,000f.
