Mr: Dougias, their new leader, is, for instance, flooding the country with circulars urging the enemies of the Democratic Party to subscribe for his ‘‘ organ’ at this point, on the ground that it 1 the only Democratic newspaper pub- lished in Washington! 4 his is rich, in view of the self-stultification on his part it involves. Thus, of late, he had apparently become a ve- hement contemner and dexpiser of organs. Jhis ciréular, however, proves that he ouly regards them as nuisances, when not Ais “ organ;.”” Again: he is ostensibly furious against the idea ot the establishmout of what he terms new Democratic tests, in the unanimous determina- tion of the Demoeratic party to regard those as their political enemies who fight in their ene- mies’ ranks. Yet, in his remarkable circular to which we refer, he coolly assumes to set up Playing second fiddle to him in the matter of fighting the batties of the Republican party, as that party is now engaged hand to hand with the Democratic party, as the true test of the Democracy of the journals of the day —those journals that sustain the Democratic party being anti-Demveratic in his catimation, while those that sustain the Kansas policy of the Re- publican party are the Democratic newspapers!!
