Oolongs, since last December, has been fifteen cents per pound; and Young Hyson Teas, of low and medium grades, ha ‘® experienced an advance of one hundred per cont. over last season’s closing prices. “It will thus be seen that the strong and rapid advance in the tea market has been the result of w short supply and active demand ; but when itis con- sidered that we may hear at any moment of the en- tire suspension of shipments at S| fact, that, as soon as a sufheient i, and. in force from England arrives at the seat of war, all five ports of entry in China, will probably be placed under strict blockade, it would not be surprising to see Teas ata much higher figure than they have yet attained.” n view of these facts, we hold out very great in- ducements for families to lay in their apes of Tea now. jell-tf The subscriber begs to infory public, that he has opened a N Louisiana avenue, where he in- tends to keep constantly on hand a of 12th street au assort QUO Rum, Sherrie: scriptions, St. Julien ¢ cases, Cham; Edinburgh Absynthe, C i ne, scription of Havana Cicacs. is Bitters, Porter, Ale, and Ci Stouhton Bitters the stock be: inet & KIN ent of Foreign and Domestic S, CIG FINE GROCE of Fine Teas, Sugar, Coffee, Flo Figs, Sardines, Anchovies, k Co., and Col.
