LATEST NEWS The inquiry instituted by the Board of Trade in regard to the loss of the West India mail steamer Tyne, has resulted in the find- ing of a report, strongly censuring the cap- tain of the vessel for not constantly using the lead on approaching land, and for the total absence of other precautions necessary to in- sure the safety of the ship. The British ships arrived off Bushire on the 20th of November, and after some correc- pondence sent ashore a ecpy of the deolara- tion of war. The next day, December 4th, they took possession of the tdssn of Karrack, unopposed. On the Sth of December the Brit. ish troops landed near Bushire; the next morn- ing they advancod two brigades along the coast toward the town The ships in the meantime were shelling the fort, the garrison of which were soon dislodged, eight hundred of whom took up a rew position to Oppose the ritish advance. After some preliminary skirmishing the British drove the enemy back upon the fort, whence they attempted to escape, but the re- treat was prevented by the British rifles sea. ward, and the cavairy landward.
