The party in pursait consisted of officers Cox, May, Kitchen, Williamson, Wollard, Keese, Parbam, King, Stewart, and Fanning They overtook the schooner, some eighty miles down the river, aud were out during the terrible storm of Tuesday night. The officers, who certainly deserve much credit for their activity, were at heavy expenses while on this trip, aud they will, doubtless, be remunerated by the slave-owners in whose interest the ex- pedition was uniertaken.
