» = wre — cag err - EE eee en Masovic.—A stated communication of the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia was held last evening at~Masonic Hall, when the following officers were installed in duo and ample form: C 8S. Frailey, M. WY Grand Master ; Jos. W. Nairn, R. W. Deputy Grand Master; G. Powell, R. W. Senior Grand War- den ; Mr. Gosler, R. W. Junior Grand W: den; George C. Whiting, R. W. Grand Secre- tary; and C. Cammack, R. W. Grand Trea- surer. After the initallation coremonies, a beautiful banner was presented to the Grand Leige by R. W. Bro. C. Cammack, in behalf of Federal Lodge, No.1, Potomac Lodge, No 5, St. John’s No. 11, and a number of brethren. The banner is of double royal pur- ple silk, with s view of the Capitol, as it will appear when finished, and the four cardinal virtues, (Temperance, Fortitude, Prudence, and Justice,) on one side; on the reverse is the full coat-of-arms of Free-Masonry. It was painted in New York by A. P. Moriarty, and is worthy of the lodge over which it will float. The elegant presentation address of R. W. Bro. =. was replied to in an a prepriate manner by M. W. Bro. B. B. French, who, at the request of the Grand Master, re- ceived the banner in behalf of the Grand Lodge, and _ returned thanks with his wonted oratorical ability. “Tae Scnoo. ror Scanpau.”—The ar- os for producing this great comedy at the National Theatre on next Monday evening are all completed, and Mr. Henry C.
