They formed a procession along the street which was distracting to behold: and entered the marital home from a street carpeted with flowers. High revelry was held to alate hour, and as matrimony is contagious, a small epi demic of weddings is expected to rage soon. The other was a marriage dramatic. A re- spectable young citizen woved and wona beau- tiful young lady, equal in station to himself. The young man had packed his baggage for a Northern tour, and was on board a steamer which had her smoke up for departure. The brother-in-law there found him; introduced himself politely, and in the most persuasive manner in the world—namely, by putting one hand on the young man’s shoulder, and with the other fumbling in his own coat ket— asked him to step ashore and get married. ‘The young gentleman awoke to a sense of his un- Justness, and consented.
