After the service, the malcontents met at the house of one of the party to amuse them- Selves in conjecturing what the pastor would do, when he should be compelled to put in practice the principles he had so readily explained. What then must have been their astonishment when they | Saas the door slowly opened, and berlin himself stood before them ! “Here I am, my friends,” said he, with that calm dignity of manner which inspires the most violent with respect ; “T am sequainted with your design.
