PAGE EIGHT Elks Braced for Strenuous Weekend Days of "98 A shivering delegation of Juneau Elks met the incoming Princess Louise at 6 o'clock this morn to greet the Skagway Elks troupe here for a weekend of Days of '98. The party had breakfast in the| Gold Room of the Baranof Hotel followed by a rehearsal of the show “Follies of '52" which will be stag- ed in the Bubble Room at the ‘Bar- anof Hotel at 10 o'clock this eve- ning The Skagway visitors piled their luggage «and props all over the| hotel lobby waiting for outgoing cannerymen and others to vac rooms. Flying wedther today plane flights and the Baranof Ho- tel management was busy improvis- ing “just in case. . .” Those meeting the early Princess Louise were: Exalted Ruler and Mrs. LeRoy West, Wallis George, Robert Faulkner, Gene Vuille, Pat Carroll, Jim O'Brien, Dr. Joyce Krsul and Art Herrold. Passengers aboard the Louise en- joyed entertainment by the Skag- way players after the vessel left port at Skagway last evening. No Host Dinner Sunday A no-host dinner will be held by local Elks and their friends in the Gold Room of Sunday afternoon following the pre- sentation of the show “Hi-Yaller” by the Skagwayites, Faulkner, chair- man of the committee, announced today. This may be followed by im- promptu acts by local talent ‘While reservations for the no host dinner are not necessary, the Bar- anof Hotel management said calls | from those planning to attend would be appreciated. Highlight Show Saturday The highlight show by the Skag- way boys and girls will be “Days of '98” given Saturday night in the Elks Hall when local and their ladies will dress in gala costume of the old days and beards ding the Days of '98 celebra- tion, a eocktail party will be held in the Elks Lounge honoring the visitors. Hours are from 6 to 7 p.m. Dancing will begin at 9 am. and two shows will be put on by the troupe. The first show is scheduled for 10 o'clock and the second. at 12:30.
