Only a week ago Madame Kana- zewa arrived in New York from a European concert tour and an ap- pearance with the Stockholm Royal Opera. A friend of Ellen Repp, concert singer who appeared frequently in Juneau prior to her departure for New York and Europe, Madame Kanazawa said that the northwest artist has “a wonderful opera en- gegement in Germany this season.” She was delighted that she would meet friends of Miss Repp m Alas- ka. Madame Kanazawa was accom= panied on her recent trip to Europe by her husband Leo Mueller, con- ductor of the Metropolitan Opera. . Curzi, a leading tenor of the San Francisgo Opera Company, will sing with Kanazawa scenes from “Mad- ame Butterfly” in which they had starred in San Francisco, and from “La Traviata.” The opera bits will be in costume. There will be piano solos on the program by Richard Cummings, the talented California pianist who will acccmpany ¢« urzi and Kanazawa.
