When everyday people fight for life and love, you have the very essence of heroism. These are the real life ingredients of “The Young Lovers.” “Because, I saw this story happen . . . because it thrilled me with its truth and hope . . . that's why I wanted to bring “The Young Lovers” to the screen, photographed where it happened. “Naturally, I was also encouraged by the enthusiastic support American public gave to “Not Wanted.”. It proved to me that most people do want something dif- ferent out of Hollywood. “These are the reasons why I am proud of “The Young Lovers.” I sincerely hope this intimate story of the heart will have a lasting meaning for you.” Mrs, Jimmie Bolfon Honored at Shower A baby shower honoring Mrs. Jimmie Bolton was given last Mon- day evening by Mrs. Tyra Newell and Mrs. Earl Boles at the Channel Apartments. In this Twentieth Century-Fox production, Kaye plays a dual role, that of a French lover and hero and an American entertainer in a French night club on the Riviera, giving him the opportunity to sing, dance and make love to both Miss Tierney and Miss Calvert with equal abandon. The complications which arise from Kaye's look-alike roles are the basis for the swift-paced story. The plot of “On the Riviera” gives Danny Kaye ample opportunity to indulge in his whimsical tomfoolery, | quadruple scat singing, nonsensical | jargon, pantomime and lygical | jibberish that has made him the beloved comedian of people in mnny lands. Sylvia Fine, Danny’s wife, wrote‘ four songs—"On the Riyiera,” “Popo the Puppet,” “Rhythm of a New Romance” and “Happy Ending” — especially for him and Jack Cole devised dance routines that set a|, new style in choreography. Kaye also does some of his famous im- personations in this lively musical singing in the manner of Maurice Chevalier, Sir Henry Lau- der, Jimmy Durante and others.
