Keithahn, curator of the Territorial museum today was dis- playing a picture sent to the mus- sum by Bob Reeves, airline oper- ator in the Anchorage area, of the world’s record giant brown bear which he shot at Cold Bay in 1948. The world record was officially confirmed by the Boone and Crock- ett club, a national arganization. which is the last word on such mat- ters. 4 Hide of the huge anithal is in the University of Alaska muSéum and its skull was sent to the Museum of Natural History, New o¥rk. Measurements of the bear are as follows: Skin, 12 feét 4 inches wide; 10 feet 4 inches long; hind paw, 162 inches long; shoulder 5 feet 4 inches high as the bear stands on all four feet and its estimated standing height on hind feet was 13 feet.
