OFF) THE DAILY ALASKA EMPIRE—JUNEAU, ALASKA 'BOARD EDUCATION ENDS SESSIONS IN ANNUAL MEETING Mrs. LaDessa Nordale, presi- dent of the Board of Education said at noon today that the board at this time will not name a successor to Dr. James C Ryan, Commissioner of the Ter- ritorial Department of Educa- tion, who has resigned effective June 30 of this year. Present plans, Mrs. Nordale said, are for the board to meet in a special session about May 1 at which time applications for the posi- tion will be considered and any other pertinent business taken up. It is understood several appli- cations have been made to the post of Commissioner of Educa- tion.
