IS AWARDED CONTRACT ARC AHPHALT - OIL The Standard Oil Company of California was awarded the Alasks Road Commission contract for tanker delivery of asphalt and fuel oil at the ARC tanks in Anchor- age and Valdez for the 1951 sea- son’s operations, it was revealed to- day. Of the three bids entered the Standard Oil bid was the only one that met all requirements for the contract, it was said. The Shell Ou Company offered an alternative bid due to inability to furnish tank- er transportation. The Union Oil Company offered an alternate bid on lesser quantities based on the possible availability of a tanker approximately for lesser quantities. Total estimate offered for delivery of asphalt and fuel ofl was $333,- 880.00. The estimate is for delivery of 10,700 tons RC-3 asphalt, $208,- 436.00; 4,100 tons MCO asphalt, $88,- 068.00 and for 14,600 barrels of fuel oil, $37,376.00.
