FRIDAY, DECEMBER 15, 1 ALASKA SALMON S1GNS CONTRACTS, WAGE INCREASES The Alaska Salmon Industry said new 1951 contracts were signed today granting wage increases ap- proximating 12': percent to 12350 carpenters, machinists and radio operators. The carpenters and radio operat- ors were granted a flat 12'¢ per- cent pay increase in contracts with the employer group. The increases for machinists ranged from 10 to 15 percent. The carpenters are members of 950 | Local 1184, Seattle District Council of Carpenters (AFL). The machin- ists and radio operators belong to independent unions. Yesterday the Salmon Industry granted 12'¢ percent wage increases to 2,000 Alaska residents affiliated with the Southeast Alaska Resident Cannery Workers Union (AFL).
