All programs subjéct to charge l:;. to conditions beyond our cop- RATES ARE SET FOR AMBULANCE CALLS Rates for calls by the new ambu- lance donated to the City of Juneau by the Elks Lodge were recom- mended by a committee were ac- cepted by the Juneau City Council at a regular meeting last night. Rates are to be: city calls, $7.50; Douglas and Thane, $10 each; and $1 per mile one way plus $7.50 forl other out-of-town calls, Waiting time is to be $4 an hour or any part thereof after the first 30 minutes. This is for a six-months trial period to see how it works out. Other provisions are that drivers, members of the Juneau Volunteer Fire Department will receive no compensation for their services, that a record be kept in triplicate of all calls, the income money be kept in a separate account for a replace- ment ambulance when needed. The committee consists of A. M. Mill for the Elks, Ed Nielson for the Council and E. E. Ninnis who was appointed as a third member by the other two. Councilman Neilson suggested that white coveralls with insignia for the drivers be purchased and operating and maintenance costs of the ambulance be taken from the ambulance fund.
