(A]) Barlow of Seattle is ask- |ing as many questions as a skilled reporter, turning the tables on those who want to interview him. Here on business for the Otis Ele- vator Company, Barlow is making his first Alaska visit except for a quick trip to Ketchikan years ago. He is district manager for Otis, his territory extending from Oregon north. Barlow has had several conferenc- es here with Architect Harold Foss and others concerned with plans and construction in Juneau. The Otis Company will install a 12-story elevator in the new apartment build- ing at Fourth and Franklin. This will occupy about three months, starting about February 1. The elevator, which will cost $55,- | 000, will be even more modern than that in the Westward Hotel at An- chorage, about which a Juneauite said, “It does everything but talk.” According to Barlow, the one for Juneau “talks back.” The Seattleite plans to go to Fair- banks tomorrow by Pan Amerlcln,| then to Anchorage, where his com- pany has contracts for several in- stallations. Barlow arrived Sunday on the Alaska and is a guest at the Bar- | anof Hotel. JIRPS IN TOWN Wwilllam O. Field, Jr., Robert L.
