Japs for U. N. In Tokyo the Japanese govern- ment in its first formal statement of policy took the side of the United Nations in the Korean conflict. A 3,800-word white paper placed Japan solidly behind the U.N. cause against aggression and with the Western powers in their struggle against Communism. The paper did not say how Japan proposed to aid in the Korean conflict but promised “to cooperate with the Democracies.” Japan is the major forward staging area for U.N. forces. The Allies again raked enemy concentrations and supply points deep in North Korean territory in night air blows. Big B-20's bombed the lines of supply and destroyed a main bridge at Seoul. Some planes dropped leaflets in 10 big North Ko- rean cities’ warning civilians to flee from even worse air attacks to come. FAIRBANKS MAN FINED FOR NEGLIGENT DRIVING Walker Riley of Fairbanks was fined $50 and given a 10-day sus- pended jail sentence by Juneau City Magistrate F.
