WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2, 1950 SOROPTIMIST CLUB MEETING THURSDAY Elvin C. Hawley, Lieutenant Com- mander, United States Coast Guard, will be the speaker when the Sorop- timist Club meets at noon, August 4, on the Terrace of the Bubble Room in the Baranof. Miss Frances Paul will sing several numbers. Guests are welcome at this program meeting. “For Better Appearance” CALL of the founding of the Coast Guard, and has been proclaimed Coast Guard day by Presidential Procla- mation. Commander Hawley will speak on the history and exploits of the Coast Guard whose motto, translated, is “Always Ready.” Mrs. Bernice Morgan, Vice-Presi- dent, will preside at the meeting. Members of the Soroptimist Club are invited to participate in honor- ing the service which has done much for the Territory and for Ju- neau and are asked to call Mrs Laura MacMillan for reservations for guests.
