MRS, FORREST SHOPS FOR HOME BEAUTIFUL ATFURNITUREMARTS Mrs. Lynn Forrest, back in Juneau from attendance at furniture market week in Seattle, said she was more impressed by the size of the show- ings than anything else. As a representative of Home Beautiful, Mrs. Forrest was an in- terested visitor at the Seattle dis- plays which filled the Armory build- ing, the Ice Arena and the Civic Auditorium., “There was lots of modern fur- niture, lots of bright colors in fur- niture and draperies. I was sur- prised to see so much upholstered furniture on display. In spite of all of the modern there was a fair share of traditional and, in contrast, striking combinations of black and white in less expensive furniture,” Mrs. Forrest said. Most of the furniture was manu- factured in Tacoma, though there was good new birch furniture from Albany; Oregon, and pine from fac- .ories it Bend and Pendleton. Most of her buying for Home 3eautiful was of draperies—“but I have all of the new catalogs and will be glad to explain them,” Mrs. Forrest added. Mrs. Forrest left Juneau July 7 and returned on the 23rd by Pan American after a busy two-and-a- half weeks of shopping for her em- ployer. WOODLEY, PRESIDENT ©OF PNA, VISITS JUNEAU On a business uip from Seattle, Arthur G. Woodley, president of Pacific Northern Airlines, came in | - via that line yesterday from An- chorage. Last evening, he went fishing on Ernest Whitehead’s boat with Whitehead and Robert Pheasant, who is in charge of PNA's Juneau station. Woodley ~caught two sal- mon, one a 15-pounder, and a hali- but. The PNA chief was a passenger today for Seattle via Pan American World' Airways. While here, he stopped at the Baranof Hotel.
