According to Rev. H. E. Beyer who has accom- panied the group on their hikes so far, (and the club members are !mo.&t appreciative of his helpful | i | | | ) i guidance), the 12-mile hike was : the most difficult of any taken this year. Some parts of the trail would have taken the agility of a moun- tain goat. However, the group seemed to find the hike most in- teresting and enjoyable. The trail took them to the face !'»( Lemon glacier which has no ap- | parent movement, and brought the | group in sight of the ice cap. One | of the striking features on the trail | was the 150-foot ‘waterfall about a | mile below the face of the glacier | Here the stream drops into a can- | yon that suggests the Grand Can- | yon. Many excellent pictures were | taken | Weather permitting, the grouj will leave at 7 p.m., Friday evening ] to hike to the top of Mt. Roberts, | staying there overnight. On Sat- {urday they will continue to Sheej Creek Basin and down to Thane. If | the weather is bad, the group will | take the Thane-Dupont trail, leay- ing at 7 am., Saturday morning.
