While prospecting for gold during the Iditarod rush he was elected to the first Alaska Legislature in 1912, and is one of the three surviving members of that pioneer assembly. ‘While panning gold, he studied law, and for years has been one of the Territory’s outstanding authori- ties on various phases of the law, {such as mining and other enact- ments. The high school mixed quartet i will sing, under direction of Miss Virginia Long, singing teacher. Business matters to be attended to will include election of the nomi- nating committee for next year, and the appointment of the scholarship committee to choose this year’s out- standing high school graduate to re- ceive the $500 P-TA award given each year.
