Parks, former Governor of Alaska, is back in town. He returned last week from a two-month stay in his log cabin near the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. His rustic summer home is in a pine forest 6,80 feet high, where there was a six-inch snowfall—the first of the season—September 25.| Governor’ Parks' home is near that | of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Thompson, on| the south fork of the Madison | River, about three miles from the | Park entrance. | The Juneauite spent the summer | in typical mountain activities, es- | pecially trout-fishing, and he man- gaged a bit of golf during some of | his travels. . He visited in Bozeman and Red | Lodge, Mont., where, he reports, | there is increased activity since | construction of a new road. Gov. | Parks flew from here to Seattle, then to Salt Lake City and West Yellowstone, Mont. Near there, he saw Mr. and Mrs. Hans Sarback, who are developing | a new ski resort at a 9,000-foot level. Sarback, who is putting in a new ski lift, formerly operated those at Timberline Lodge, Mount {Hood (Oregon) and Sun Valley, |Idaho. Mrs. Sarback is the former | _nuth Bradley of Juneau. 1G.
