Anderson, both in the Juneau office of the Forest Service, have taken vacations in order to attend the annual meeting of the Society of American Foresters. It is the technical society for; foresters of the United States. Its| annual meeting will be held Oc- tober 10 to 13 in Seattle. Knox Marshall, Petersburg forest supervisor, will also attend the meeting. 'DE MOLAY DANCE 10 BE HEI._DTHIS NIGHT A dance at the Scottish Rite Temple this evening sponsored by the DeMolay boys will be a social event which the younger set looks forward to with anticipation. IN EFFECT SOON A uniform vital statistics program for Alaska took another step for- ward with approval of rules and regulations by the Board of Health | in Juneau this week. These regu'a-| tions will go into effect within 30 | days. Goal of the program is com- plete and accurate registration of | all births, deaths, stillbirths, and adoptions, and to make these avail- | able to properly concerned indi- | viduals. Steps toward this goal will | include preparation of instruction | manuals .and . field work -with com- | missioners, community leaders and | the public. | At public hearings representa- | tives of veterans groups pointed,out the need for free copies of records for veterans’ claims.
