The board, consisting of oard of health members, met for the first} time yesterday, heard some pros and cons concerning pulp mills dredging and fish heads | They also appointed several ad- | visory committees to aid and :\d-‘ vise them on various aspects of their work, according tc. Dr. C rl Albrecht, board executive tary. The law, passed by the las legislature, provided that the com- missioner of health should hold this position. A letter complaining of the whal- ing station aroma caused by sal-| mon heads at Pelican City was read | before the board, asking that they| do something to clear the air. It was said that halibut and King salmon heads also grace the bay at Pelican and which, it is charged, are responsitle for “at least 75 per- cent of the smell.” It was said the salmon cannery | there would gladly get a ‘‘masti-| cator” to chew up the heads and offal, but believed the halibut re- frigeration plant should share the expense of installation and opera- tion. The board wrote a letter, the contents of which were not made ' one public, to the Pelican complainants, l,;(- Dr. Albrecht said. Charles R.
