KRASILOVSKY IS NAMED LAW CLERK Addition of the new staff mem- ker will greatly lighten the burden of the court, Judge George W. Folta indicated today, with an- nouncement that M. William Krasilovsky has been engaged as law clerk. Krasilovsky has been in me of- fice of Attorney R. E. Robertson since he and his wife came to Ju- neau July 16. The new law clerk is a graduate of Cornell University and Law School. For the first time, District Courts in Alaska are to have the much- needed services of law clerks, it is Judge Folta's understanding that Judge Anthony J. Dimond ot the Third Division alsc has engaged one. “We were virtually ordered employ law clerks,” remarked, “when Chief Judge Wil- liam Denman of the Ninth Circuit Court learned how overworked Alaska courts are. He wired that he was astonished to learn we did not lhwe any. The clerk can relieve the court of much time-consuming re- search and briefing,” he added. I Judge Denman is responsible for seeing the judicial business Alaska, and .the entire circuit, is carried on with reasonac:le dispatch. Judge Folta hopes that further benefits to Alaska courts will come from the United States Judicial Conference in Washington, D.C, this month. That group will consider a bill providing for appointment of an {additional judge for the Third Di- vision, and for placing District Courts in Alaska on a par with Federal Courts, in certain matters. | One of these would require attend- ance at judicial conferences and reports on the condition of Alaska courts. Judge ‘Folta attended nual Circuit Court Judicial Con- ference in Los Angeles this sum- mer, on request, to give such a re- port to that group. to BOARD ENDS HEARINGS Ten cases came beiore the Equal- ization Board when it met for the last time last night in the City Hall.
