FRIDAY, JUNE 3, 1949 NON-RESIDENT TAX "HEARING TO OPEN NEW COURT TERM| After a two-week recess, District Court will reconvene Monday with many important cases on the cal-| endar_before adjournment June 23. The hearing on the test case con- cerning non-resident fishermen’s li-| censes is scheduled to open Monday morning. Attorney A. H. Ziegler of Ketchikan filed it on behalf of two non-resident masters of halibut ves- sels and the Polaris Fisheries of ! Ketchikan. Two criminal cases are scheduled to foliow—those of the U. S. vs. Harry O. Jackson, June 8, and the U. S. vs. Wallace Rutherford. Meantime, Judge George W. Folta is studying authorities and the transcript of the recent hearing on a case challenging the new net income tax law.
