The indictment returned today alleged that after Slaughter’s de- feat in 1946, he returned to Wash- ington as a representative of the Chicago and Kansas City Boards of Trade and the Minneapolis grain exchange, and lobbied here in be- half of grain legislation in which they were interested. 12 WILL COMPETE IN JCC SPONSORED SPEAKING CONTEST Twelve students from Juneau High School will compete tomor- row afternoon for top honors in the “I Speak for Democracy” ra- dio speaking contest sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Students will give their five-min- ute speeches at 2:30 o'clock in the high school study hall, with five judges determining who will repre- sent the high school in Alaska-wide competition at Fairbanks.
