Admiral Coontz, always known for his knowledge of Alaska, was later chief of naval operations and commander-in-chief of the U. S. Fleet, 1923-25. But her parents and all of her aunts are now dead and in Juneau Mrs, Sill is finding few of the people and names she knew in thel early days. Mrs. Sill's home is now in Her- cules, California, where she pub- lishes the bi-weekly house organ of the Hercules Powder Company. She came north over the Alaska Highway and spent six weeks at; Watson Lake before coming to Juneau by way of Whitehorse and Skagway.
