Franklin Street Ketchikan, Aug. 25 To The Editor, | Daily Alaska Empire: | On my return yesterday to Alaska attention was directed to a lution adopted by the C.I.O in Juneau condemning my sug- gestion that fishermen follow their occupation this week despite the strangulating directives of certain j bureaucrats in the Fish and Wild- \ life Service. The wording of the resolution scunds'familiar to those of us that have heard similar expressions dur- ing” the past”ten years. The laudable idea of strict ob- servgnce of the law sounds akin to mockery coming from certain men in Juneau, hiding béhind the shel- ters of a great labor organization like the CIO. These men para- |lyzed the port of Juneau during the year by illegally closing the, largest industry in the city. They | have continually defied the law in |the interest of the welfare of | foreign despots. God willing, I will| be in Juneau during the next few| weeks and expose them by direct ! «charges. | i I am sworn to uphold and obey | ithe law. Any obligation I have dees net permit me to see grave | Jinjustice done to men trying to | {make an honest living for them-| {selves and their families.
