Paul Nanauch, ownsr of the Rosalyn, said that he had seen David Johnson, of Angoon, four days earlier alone in a skiff in that said that he also sizhted the Gertrude anchored further south in Seymour Canal in a small Admiralty Island across from Hugh. He said there were no signs of life and that he made a search Jan. 15 but could not find a trace of life. The Gertrude is registered in the name of Erwin Brown, of Craig, and is numbered 31A970 The skiff was taken by Nanauch to Kake. The Gertrude is still an- chored where it was first seen by the Romlyn crew.
