There are three posi- tions open in this field which must be filled as soon as possible All over the United States there an extreme shortage of profe onal workers making it difficult to recruit for the positions in Al 4 Inasmuch as there may be social workers in the Territory, but not employed in the field, the Depart- ment is making this appeal request- ing all social workers to contact the district workers in either Ketchi- kan, Anchorage, Fairbanks or write the Territorial Office in Juneau. The qualifications for the employ- ment of a social worker include the following: one year of graduate study at a school of Service and So- al Administration and at least one ear of experience in the field. is /8587 ORGANIZED LABOR ENTERS POLITICS 10 PROTECT SELF In apparent defiance of the Taft- Hartley Act, organized labor in Juneau has decided to enter poli- tics to “protect its hard-won rights against further encroach- ment.” This action was approved Friday at a meeting of the Juneau AFL Central Labor Council and was revealed today. The official statement des that labor must take this action, not as a pressure group demanding special favors, but as citizens hav- ing the welfare of the country at heart.
